Waikari Church compilation
Church of the Ascension Waikari 1901 – 2001.
The compilation covers a colourful history of the Anglican Church of Waikari, the Church of Ascension and vicarage. An interesting read regarding the churches changing facade and a brief history of it’s priests and community. During it’s history the vicarage barely survived an earthquake on Christmas Day 1922 and finally succumbed to fire two months later, in February 1923.
